Days of the week in Spanish

If you hear : ¿ Qué día es? or ¿ Qué día es hoy? Someone it´s asking to you which day it is? And again the verb SER (to be ) is which We use.

• Remember We use the Verb (to be)SER for:

- Permanent status
- Hour
- Part of the day ( mediodia, medianoche..)
- Day
- Month

• We use the Verb ( to be )Estar for 

- Not permanent things:
( Be mad : Estoy enfadado, Be in some place: Estoy en casa, Status: Estoy casado)

We go back to the days. 

• So if someone ask you ¿ Qué día es? You should respond with : Hoy es.....

You always say first the day of the month before the month.
- El siete de Enero
- El veinte de Octubre
So will be: Hoy es el siete de Enero. Hoy es el veinte de Octubre.
* TIP: When you write dates you need to write first the day/ month/ year

• In spanish you express years in thousands and hundreds. 

- Mil novecientos cincuenta
- Dos mil trece.

• The Spanish Calendar start with Monday. 

Lunes- Martes - Miércoles- Jueves - Viernes - Sábado - Domingo
                                                                            Fin de semana
